Depeche Mode played a free concert at the intersection of Hollywood & Vine last night [4/23/09]. Over 12,000 people showed up to watch the 7-song performance which aired in part on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

That was a fun show. Even my country music loving brother was singing along to Personal Jesus.
Is it just me or were the cops being dicks? The audience booed the cops at the end--usually it is only the punks that do that, right?
Hey, thanks for the writeup. I was actually on the same flight to London as the band on Friday afternoon, which I realized because before we left, Andy Fletcher was in my cabin talking to one of the band's staff about the "incident" at the show. The Danny Lohner thing had to be it.
yeah, good show. depeche mode concerts back in the violator days were epic. i lost interest in them during the songs of faith and devotion era. i never really cared for "walking in my shoes," but after seeing it live the other night, i realize it's a damn good song. i didn't notice any incidents with the police, but there were a lot of people there thursday night. that reminds me: i picked up the new dm album the other day and need to listen to it...
