ToneTune

ToneTune is a new iPhone app that helps you tune the strings on your guitar and other stringed instruments to the correct pitch by ear.

The interface is simple and comes with a variety of tunings for guitar, including standard and open tunings, Drop D and 12-string. ToneTune has over 60 tunings for stringed instruments: violin, cello, mandolin, ukulele, banjo, lute and a whole bunch more.

There's a handy Notes page that lets you hear single notes and lists them with their frequency [to 2 decimal places] and MIDI note number [0-127].

Listen to the tones through the iPhone's built-in speaker, headphones or an external amp or sound system.

Download Stanton Studio's ToneTune from the iPhone App Store for $2.99.

Awesome, but why can't someone make a free iPhone tuner already?!

waffles: it's only 3 bucks. that's less than the price of 1 waffle at roscoe's! besides, the cheapest digital guitar tuner you can find that outputs tones is probably at least $15.

tonetune is a great app! i know it will come in handy for me.

hey, it looks like there is a free scaled-down version called ToneTuneLT on the way...
