Wired Old Media Jamboree

Wired Old Media Jamboree from jankworks:

"This was shot on a bare bones Canon HV30, no fades, no video effects except speed and resizing, no foley, no reverse, and no color correction were used (not because I'm lazy, I liked the challenge). A Zoom H2 was used for some sound, but proved to be a pain syncing with the video, so the onboard mic was my fallback. I wish I had more time to work on this, deadline had me rushing.

All sound appearing in this video plays through first at regular speed, while simultaneously linked with its original video source, before any speed was changed, audio looped, or audio was decoupled from source video. Hope that makes sense to you editors out there. There is one continuity error in this video, left there on purpose. See if you can pick it up. Also, the riff with the bells sped and slowed is a very weak tip of the hat to the breaking bells on Run DMC's Peter Piper.

This video is also my submission to Wired's media room contest... http://www.wired.com/magazine/wiredmakeover/"

Monorocket Mission6 Modular Synth Case

Tonight I put together the modular synth I'll be using in Miami.

I picked up this new Mission6 case from Shawn from Analogue Haven last night.

It was custom-built for me by Steve R from Monorocket. Thanks, Steve!

The construction is solid, and the dark red snakeskin looks great!

After a few hours of planning, screwing modules in place and patching cables like a mad scientist...

I was cranking out some super wild sounds. The delays in the new Tiptop Audio Z-DSP module are really amazing!

So good...

Toy's Opera

Artist Demonstration: Toy’s Opera (Adam Kendall, Yoni Niv, Elad Schniderman) from Play With Fire.

"A multimedia performance written for and incorporating small moving toys and found-objects, video, physical computing, and sound art.

The miniature 5ft x 4ft stage, performative video, and interactive serially-operated devices (controlled via an Arduino physical-computing microcontroller) are the heart of the project. The rich, realistic world of HO-scale model trains is the source-material for video and audio. Cameras positioned in and around the stage feed an automated video mixer and custom video-processing software."

Jorge Crowe: 2x + Bendito Circuito!

2x (potencia de dos) from h.cosas.

Jorge Crowe's 2x [Potencia de Dos] is a DJ/VJ electronic instrument made of a simple circuit, a scanner, six speakers, a subwoofer, an overhead projector and an LCD panel from an old laptop.

Placing your hands on the scanner's touch panel triggers seven different frequencies, and each of them is double the bits/beats of the previous (2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, etc.). The pulses excite an LCD screen to create geometric visual compositions.

BENDITO CIRCUITO! from h.cosas.

A day of circuit bending at the Toy Laboratory in Almagro, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Short video documentary on Jorge Crowe by Pablo Betas, Sol Astolfi, Flor de Giovanni, Ezequiel Pereyra Lucena and María Pirsch, first year students of the Diseño de Imagen y Sonido program at the University of Buenos Aires.

Check out Jorge Crowe's vimeo channel and his blog for more.
