Vostok

The Analogue Solutions Vostok modular analog synth is sweet!

The Vostok V2 has a 22x22 matrix pin panel and 69 sockets for patching, a MIDI to CV converter and an 8-step sequencer in a portable steel suitcase. It's also got a 2-way joystick controller, MS20-style filters... There's a lot more. Check out the Analogue Solutions Vostok page for all the specs.

Here are my first nine minutes of sounds on the Vostok. No patch cords. No MIDI. Not even a keyboard attached. Just pins in the matrix panel and some knob tweaking.

  4. your tracks with the Vostok were the reason I went out and bought mine. best use of $3000 I've ever made. It's a real drag though that you've made your tracks inaccessible until 2013. I listened to them so many times when they were up on your site and then one day poof! they were gone. Since I re-discovered your blog I've realised exactly how much I miss those tracks how can I get a opy of your album?

  5. thanks for the good words. glad you enjoyed my tracks. very cool that you picked up a vostok! it's such a cool synth. at times i wish it had a broader sound, but, as you know, its sound is incredible!

    i'm sorry i've taken down my "one hand" tracks, including the vostok jams. when i first put the tracks up, i intended for them to serve as demos of my experiments in sound. somewhere along the way, i came up with the idea for the album, which i will re-release in a few years. hey, send me your contact info, and i'll send you a copy when it's time...

    i wish there were more vostok demos on the web, especially for people considering buying one. i plan to put up some new vostok jams soon.
